Masterfully forged from professional-grade High-Carbon Steel, the Shinano Collection features individually forged kitchen knives that are built to last so that you never need another kitchen knife set again.
The knives are etched with a traditional Damascus pattern, paying homage to a style of knife-making whose history stretches back over 1000 years.
High-Carbon Steel, which was once the metal of choice of Japanese swordsmiths, has been exploding in popularity due to its added hardiness and sharpness, to such a degree that high-carbon steel has become the premier choice of many professional chefs.
Each Shinano knife is carefully heat-treated and sharpened to perfection for razor-sharp cutting and extreme durability. The knives are etched with a traditional Damascus pattern, paying homage to a style of knife-making whose history stretches back over 1000 years.
The knives boast a 15° edge for superior cutting, as compared to a typical 20-25° edge found in most Western knives. You WILL feel the difference from the very first cut.
Crafted from professional-grade, heat-treated high-carbon steel, Shimeru Knives deliver exceptional sharpness, durability, and edge retention. From the first slice, you’ll experience the precision that sets us apart.

Step 1 — Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher — the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2 — Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink — even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3 — Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer — it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it — no special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use. With these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Got this set for the missus and shes over the moon. The knives are proper sharp out the box and look gorgeous on the block. She uses the santuko most days for chopping veg, the nakiri is brill for herbs. Definitely a step up from our old lasagna knives.
Great set overall, the knives are sharp and the blue handles look smart. Only thing I would say is the 5 inch santuko is a bit small for my hands - I tend to just use the 7 inch one for everything. Other than that no complaints, they hold an edge well and came well packaged.
Honestly these knives are fantastic. I was a bit worried about the resin handles being slippery but theyre actually really grippy and feel solid. Used the kiritsuke to slice a roast beef the other day and it was so effortless. The whole set feels well balanced, not too heavy. Would buy again no question.
Got this for my dad who loves cooking and he says theyre the best knives hes ever had. I had a go with the petty knife and it felt lovely and sharp. Only giving 4 stars cause I think the set is a bit pricey for what it is but the quality is definitely there. Arrived next day which was a bonus.
Theyre alright knives I suppose. The set looks nice enough and they cut fine but I expected a bit more for the price if Im honest. The bread knife is decent but the santuko feels a tad unbalanced to me. Not terrible, just not as amazing as some reviews say.
Really like these knives, theyve made meal prep much quicker. The nakiri is brill for chopping veg and the kiritsuke does a decent job on meat. Only reason for 4 stars is I wish the handles were a tiny bit thicker but thats just personal preference. Still a solid set for the money.
Bought these as a birthday present for myself after using cheap ones for years. The set covers everything I need in the kitchen - the bread knife slices through crusty loaves like butter and the petty knife is my go-to for small jobs. The blue handles are stunning, really eye catching. Cant believe the quality for the money.
So I finally upgraded from my old Victorinox set and wow what a difference. The Shinano set arrived quick in a nice box which was a nice touch. The Santuko is my favourite - its flat profile makes chopping onions so quick. My wife nicked the bread knife for her baking and wont give it back. Top quality for the price.
Ok so I bought these after reading good things but theyre just average really. The steel feels ok and they hold an edge alright but the handles are a bit weird for me - not sure if I like the resin texture. The 8 inch kiritsuke is handy but I reckon you could get a similar set for less money. Theyre fine, not bad, just not amazing.
Bought this as a gift for my partner who loves cooking. He's over the moon. The damascus pattern is gorgeous and they're incredibly sharp out of the box. He says the nakiri is his favourite for chopping herbs and the petty knife is perfect for little jobs like trimming fat off meat. The set covers everything he needs, he's already told me his old knives are going in the bin.
